Scenes from Chiang Mai, Thailand's second largest city. A pleasant city at the base of Thailand's northern mountain ranges. It has a great deal of charm and culture. There are many day trips that can be arranged from here. National parks, caves, elephant rides, temples, and rafting are just some of the activities available in the region.

The Old City of Chiang Mai is surrounded by a rectangular moat. Inside that moat was a fortress wall. The moat and much of the wall are still visible today. To the left and below are views of the city walls, one of the main gates into the city and the moat that surrounds the old city. |
