Life in Bangkok. Bangkok is one of the worlds mega-cities with approximately 15,000,000 people in the greater metro area. Crowded, noisy and polluted, it also fascinating. These are all photos taken on morning walks near the hotel. The streets in Bangkok offer a wealth of people watching opportunities. Monks, markets and just ordinary pedestrians, while mundane to residents are fascinating to us. Unfortunately, I have always been self conscious about photographing strangers, so I don't have as many images as I would like.

Top: "Fresh" fish awaiting buyers in an open market. The smells coming from places like this are one of the primary things I will remember about Bangkok. Nothing smells quite like it.

Left: School uniforms. They seem to be ubiquitous all over the world, except in the US. The humidity wreaked havoc with my digital camera, often creating halos around the images.

Below: Monks collecting morning alms.

Above: Flower market

This fire truck was parked here the whole time we were in Bangkok. I can only assume it is "stationed" here.
