Originally the house of Princess Beloselskaya-Belozerskaya, Belozersky Palace was "renovated" in 1799 to it's present neo-classical appearance under the direction of architect, Fyodor Demertsov. Finally an historic structure in St Petersburg that wasn't used for storage, it became the local communist party headquarters. Today it is the city's cultural center.
