This lovely building originally known as the Congregations Montefiore Synagogue was built in 1903 at a cost of $9,000, a steal even by standards of the day. It was designed by prominent Utah architect, Carl Neuhausen, (who also helped design the Cathedral of the Madeleine), and was one of only four synagogues in the state at that time. The building served as a synagogue for 70 years. In 1987 it was purchased by Metro-Fellowship, a local nondenominational church.

At some point after 1990, the building came under the auspice of Saints Peter and Paul Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church. The Byzantine architecture, complete with Moorish domes is ideal for its current occupant.
