The Men's & Women's Snowbaord Parallel Grand Slalom. I had never heard of this event before the Olympics. I believe this was the first winter games in which it was a medals event. The event was for both the men's and Women's finals. The term "parallel" refers to both men's and women's, not as it is typically associated with skiing.

	Usually, the competitors were seperated by tenths of a second. Many of the matches were quite literally photo finishes.
