The
Ford Motor Company Service Building. This nondescript industrial
building built in 1924 is significant because it was designed by Albert
Kahn, one of America's most famous architects at the time. Many of his
projects were industrial structures, but he was famous for making them
more livable for the employees who toiled in them. His use of natural
light was unique at the time. It now houses Envirotech Research.
