Construction on the Park City Hall began in 1885 to serve the 4000 residents of the growing community. The fire that leveled most of the city in 1898, claimed all but the facade of the building which was immediately rebuilt. The bell tower was added in 1901 to warn of just such emergencies. It no longer houses city offices, but the visitors center is here and you can tour the old Utah territorial prison, located in the basement.
