The foundation for
the Riga Dome Cathedral dates back to 1201. Construction
took centuries and most of what you now see now dates from the 18th and
19th century. Located on Doma Laukums, the city's main square, it is one
of Riga's signature churches and actually escaped destruction during WW
II. It is famous for its boys and girls choirs, and its 6,767 pipe organ.
