Japanese municipal subdivisions confuse be somewhat but Hakone, though often called a town, seems to be more of a region similar to a county. There are several "towns" in Hakone, including Miyanoshita where the Fujiya Hotel is located and where we stayed while in Hakone. Those familiar with mountain towns will appreciate the single main street with a handful of steep and narrow side streets. Just images from the area.

Above Right: I love this sign. It appears to say is that this road is only open to emergency vehicles in the event of a major earthquake. What is not quite so certain is what the giant fish has to do with a major earthquake. Cute though.
