with a population of 45,000 and a density of 3,900 people/Km, the Chiyoda Ward is by far Tokyo's least dense ward. It is one of Tokyo's primary business districts and looks more like a typical western skyline then the rest of the city. It is centrally located, so it is a good place to stay with quick access to Tokyo Station and many subway lines. The primary reason to visit the area however, is to see the Imperial Palace which is located at the center of Chiyoda City. The palace grounds and park surrounding it take up over 10% of the city's area. This coupled with the fact that there are no purely residential neighborhoods in Chiyoda, account for its low density. I have a separate page for the Imperial Palace. |
