Technically, the town of Tammisaari (Ekenäs in Swedish) no longer exists, having been combined with other towns in 2009 to form the municipality of Raseborg. A pleasant and inviting city, it is located on an archipelago and has a beautiful harbor. The original town was founded in 1546 and to this day is one of the most well preserved of Finland's old wooden towns (they tended to burn down often). Old Tammisaari still has many buildings dating back to the 18th century and makes for a great stroll.

No, the sign above does not say "sluts for sale" as many in our group assumed. It means "clearance sale" in Swedish.
