Järvenpää is a lovely little suburb of Helsinki, but the attraction is the Church of Järvenpää, or Järvenpään kirkko in Finnish. Designed by Erkki Elomaa in 1968, it is a unique but very functional modern structure. Though a brutalist design, it surprisingly comfortable inside. When we weren't wandering the church grounds, we spent the afternoon riding rented bicycles.
