Throughout the island, there are remnants of the original defensive walls of the fortress. They must have made a formidable defense at the time. The bastions came in many types. A demi-lune is a half moon shaped bastion. The picture on the top left is the Hyvä Omatunto demi-lune. The name means "good conscience" in Finnish. The other images are of the Hyve and Kunnia, or "virtue & honor", bastions. Though you cannot see it in the image, there is a Summer theater that performs inside the demi-lune.
