Eira; this rather ritzy neighbor hood takes its name from Eira hospital nearby, which in turn took its name from Eir, the Scandinavian goddess of healing. With plush mansions and large lawns, it more closely resembles an L.A. suburb than a Finnish neighborhood. Of course one major difference is its proximity to the center of town and typical Finnish attention to design.

Above Right: even the garages are well designed.

Below: Mikael Agricolan Kirkko, designed by Lars Sonck. Named after a Protestant clergy man who became known as the "father of the Finnish written language", it is located adjacent to Eira.
