Designed in 1906 by Harold W. Viggio and Albert T. and William J. Baerrensenthe, sons of a Danish ship builder, The Sherman St. Event Center is a bit of an oddity. It was the headquarters of the Colorado Shriners (Thirty Third Degree Masons). In 1995 the building was sold to the Eulipians Theater Company and the interior became more accessible to the general public.

While Moorish revival exterior is quite unusual, it is the eclectic mix of interior design styles that make this quirky old building unique. The first floor meeting rooms are arts & crafts in style, while the Byzantine style grand ballroom more closely fits the Moorish exterior. It has a surprisingly large 550 seat theater tucked away on the 4th & 5th floors and it's ornate elevator was imported from Italy.

It is currently a concert venue and reception center. There is a jazz lounge called the Blue Note located here as well.

The grand ballroom. From the outside, one would never guess that a space like this existed inside.
