The Royal Gorge Bridge is located about 2 hours from Denver near Canon City, CO. Built in 1929, it is the highest suspension bridge in the world. It crossses the Arkansas River and Royal Gorge Rail Road almost 1200 feet below. There is a cost to get in to see it, but it is well worth it. Take the tram accross the gorge to get a clear view of the bridge. Be forwarned if you are afraid of heights, while the bridge is made to support 2 million pounds, you can feel that bad boy sway as you walk accross it and you have unobstructed views of the gorge below your feet.
