A mere two hour drive from Denver sits The town of Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. With an elevation starting at 7,500 ft and rising to over 14,000 ft, this park is one of the most beautiful in the national park system. Check out http://rockymountainnationalpark.com/ if you are planning a visit.

The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, built in 1909 by Freelan Oscar Stanley, (of Stanley Steamer fame). The 138 room hotel was the inspiration for Stephen King's "the Shining" and the miniseries was shot at this location. It is on the national historic register and is of course, considered by many to be haunted.

The Park Theater was built in 1914 and the tower was added sometime after 1922. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
