The Molly Brown House Museum is housed in the Victorian mansion owned by Molly Brown and her husband J.J. Though she actually spent little time there in her later years, she owned the home until her death in 1932. The house was built in 1889 for Isaac and Mary Large. The home was designed by local architect William Lang, who was famous for blending styles, (Richardsonian Romanesque and Queen Anne in this case). When Isaac & Mary lost the home in the Silver crash of 1893, they literally traded this home for the Brown's more modest home close by. The Capitol Hill neighborhood is my neighborhood. It is a fascinating mix of turn of the century mansions and affordable apartments (many in turn of the century buildings). Museum
