Copper Mountain...Ok, so it may be run by Intrawest (they run about a dozen resorts in North America, including Winter Park and Whistler), but I still really like it. Reasonably close, reasonably priced and great facilities. A good half of the mountain is geared towards easier skiing, but there is definitely enough good black diamond terrain to keep you busy. At about $90.00, a Copper fourpass is a steal. Be forewarned, Copper's primary downside is the size of the weekend crowds.
