Cheesman Park

Images of Cheesman Park. When I first moved to Denver, I had an apartment right across the street from Cheesman. It's a beautiful park, excellent for jogging. The park has a colorful past and a...well, colorful present as well. It was originally a cemetery and ostensibly many of the individuals interred in the cemetery are still buried beneath the park. This has given rise to many ghost stories about the area, though in the four years I lived there, I never saw anything unusual...well nothing that couldn't be explained anyway. Cheesman is also the center of Denver's gay community and on a summer afternoon it shows. The annual Gay Pride Parade starts in Cheesman and many of the local businesses cater to the gay community.
