We discovered the
Jardin Botánico Carlos Thays quite
by accident. It's a lovely park with winding pathways through a dense
canopy of indigenous flora. They are all over the place. The garden gets
it's name from the French born-Argentinean landscape architect who designed
it back in the 1890's. Thays and his family lived in a mansion inside
the complex while he was director of parks for the city. You'll especially
lik the gardens if you're a cat lover. A large number of cats have made
there home here and have resisted attempts at removal. While attempts
are made to keep new cats out, the current population is allowed to roam
free in the park, and even receive veterinary care thanks to a group of
volunteers that has adopted them.
